Originating in the late 1960’s, parents and supporters of the Burlington Teen Tour Band gathered to help with the planning and organizing of the various activities of the Band. This group of parents and supporters became known as the “Boosters”. The Booster organization was incorporated as a registered non-profit charity in 1974 to formalize the manner in which it would function as prime supporters of the Burlington Teen Tour Band.
The mandate of the Burlington Teen Tour Band Boosters is to promote and support all activities of the Burlington Teen Tour Band and in particular, without limiting the generality of the foregoing:
-
To support the study and production of music by the members of the Burlington Teen Tour Band through concerts, marches and otherwise;
-
To promote the efficient operation of the Burlington Teen Tour Band
-
To support activities designed to demonstrate to the public, either directly or indirectly, the training in good citizenship provided by the Burlington Teen Tour Band to the Band members
Volunteering
The Booster organization is built on the fundamentals of volunteering. It’s through the donation of time and expertise of many people that we have been able to build the Boosters and continue to support the Burlington Teen Tour Band. The Boosters are always in need of your help. All Boosters in good standing are invited to get involved. It’s a great way to meet people while supporting a great cause in your community. If you’re unsure of how to get involved, just ask! Or you can review the fund raising page on this website to see if there are any activities that you would like to get involved in.

The Burlington Teen Tour Band Alumni Association was officially formed in 1997 to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary. In addition to celebrating this milestone the Alumni Association was formed with the intention to allow former band members to stay in contact with their fellow members from years past.
Every year the ranks of our Alumni Association continue to grow as present band members age out and as more and more past members reconnect with their youth. If you are past member of the Burlington Teen Tour Band, formerly the Burlington Boys and Girls Band, or if you know of someone we hope you'll pass on information.
In 2007, the BTTB alumni helped celebrate the band's 60th anniversary! Many events were held during the Sound of Music Festival weekend here in Burlington. All culminating up to the Grand Festival parade, which saw the return of the BTTB alumni marching band, which consisted of approximately 400 alumni marching the parade route. This was truly a sight to behold! During the 60th anniversary, the band and the alumni played host to the President of the Tournament of Roses, Mr. CL Keading. Mr. Keading and his wife were visiting Burlington to officially invite the Burlington Teen Tour Band to the Tournament of Roses Parade, the Grand Daddy of all parades, on January 1, 2008.
The BTTB alumni re-convened in 2017 to celebrate the BTTB's 70th anniversary. Again, after hosting many mixers and events, hundreds of alumni of all ages joined together to march in the Sound of Music Parade. The event was a roaring success and planning is already underway for our next time!
